THE YEAR OF THE METAL RAT

In this post we will tackle a couple of topics, the Jupiter Transit for 2020 and the Year of the Metal Rat which begins January 25, 2020 until February 11, 2021.

YEAR OF THE METAL RAT

The Rat is the first Zodiac Animal within Chinese Astrology, but I'll save that for another post. I am a firm believer that life unravels in synchronistic patterns and when you acknowledge and take note of the patterns you will reap the most from life.

The Year of the Rat happens every once every 12 years, and so themes from 12 years back could very well rise up again...

The Year of the Rat: 2020, 2008, 1996, 1984, 1972, 1960, 1948, 1936, 1924, 1912, 1900 | Note that not all of these years, however, fall in the Metal Element, in fact, the last time we were under the Metal Rat was in 1960 & 1900.

Needless to say, those years brought big turning points in the world and how life is lived today and perhaps this year will also bring the beginning of a new way of life. I mean it was in the 1900's that the Telephone shot up in popularity and most homes had one. In the '60s 75% of homes owned a Television in comparison to just 1% in the '50s. Not to mention the major shifts in women's rights and cultural and political themes that have evolved and are playing out today.

Elements play an important role within life and within Astrology and so, the Metal element will bring about this drive and determination to create or do something this year. Any year that ends with a zero or one belong to a Metal year, zero is the cosmic egg of creation and therefore represents a beginning, potential or opportunity. One is the start or the journey/beginning to that which has been seeded.

Metal is the weapon you wield to make something and we all know how fast Rats can multiply. The element of Metal is all around a benefic element, with caution most to those who have Wood within their Bazi Chart. Wood can be cut down by metal or carved into something beautiful, another message of creation as a result of destruction. However you want to use your resources wisely, a skilled craftsman can make a lot out of the wood he has, an unskilled person will waste a lot of their time, energy and resources trying to create just one thing.

Rewinding a little bit, Metal produces or draws water the element associated with wealth, abundance and life. It's safe to say the things seeded this year can bare tremendous fruits for the years that follow. Let us not forget we are talking Rat's, and out of the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals, the Rat is one of the smaller ones. What this means is that there is a need to use one's wits, intelligence and resourcefulness in 2020 or risk being scattered and worrying about everything.

The main theme of the year under the influence of the Rat could very well be focused upon the career, work and status. Working hard to keep up with demands and duties for the year. A year to lay the foundations and plant your seeds for the future. There will be a lot of determination, new zest and energy for life as your desire increases to reach goals and targets.
