MOON IN LEO
THE STUDENT BECOMES THE MASTER
The Moon in Leo sets the tone for the week, bringing themes around talent, inspiration and an air of theatrics. Ruled by the Sun, the planet of the soul, success and your role within society, the week can centre around focusing on your goals, career and ambitions.
Leo energy is power, it represents a consistent burning fire, its pure prowess, creativity and charisma. Leo energy brings the need for recognition, an audience, to be the best and playfulness.
Leo energy is like that of a movie. It's exciting, captivating, and everything about it draws you in. It’s active and engaging storytelling. Leo is love, the rhyme and reason for all things.
When you’re in the energy of Leo you’re in the arena of magnetism, whatever captivates your eyes, be it the arts, fine wines, foods and luxury living. Leo is the sign of royalty and the power and prestige that comes from associations. It’s extravagant and connects to our reason for being. It prides itself on being high class, high quality and being the best.
Leo is flashy, it’s ego-driven, charming and desired. Leo is about embracing the inner child, it’s about having fun and enjoying life. Leo is the sign that‘s about being unapologetically you. It connects to all that's good in life, the experiences, love, passion and doing the stuff that lights you up.
Weeks that begin under the sway of Leo, bring a need to not dismiss the good in your life. It’s very much about taking the time to smell the roses. What do you love? Make sure you take the time to do more of what you love.
PUSHYA
THE PATH TO SUCCESS!
The week begins under Pushya, the Lunar mansion of the lotus flower or cow udder, meaning the ability to nourish, to help you grow up strong. Lotus flowers bloom in muddy waters showing the ability to bloom even in the direst of places. Pushya is governed by Brihaspati, the god of advice, knowledge and sage advisor to the gods.
I feel that this week presents us with a personal truth that will change things, awakening us to a personal breakthrough. Pushya will show you the best route to get from point A to point B, but only if you’re worthy.
So, I guess the week is really asking for us to question the power of belief, and if our beliefs aid or block us from getting to the position, goal or desire we seek. If it's not about what we believe it could also present us with knowledge, or wisdom that can help shake us free to help us reach that same goal.
Pushya Nakshatra is one of success and fulfilling one's potential. Governed by Brihaspati the guru, sage or old-world priest/magician. Brihaspati tells you precisely what to do to reach your goal or objective. As Vic Dicara says, Pushya knows the path to success and what roads lead to what places. Governed by planet Jupiter, however, he doesn’t give those answers to those who are undeserving or unworthy.
Jupiter will turn retrograde on Sunday signalling a turning you inwards, you begin to reflect and connect to what you believe or know, immersing you into the internal experience. Nobody looks for the Guru when Rx, or if you do you won’t find what you seek because the answer to all questions lies within. Jupiter Rx gets us all to think about what we aim to experience from life, what we aim to learn, to achieve, to reach which derives back to the belief.
You see everything is mind, you will only manifest what you believe is possible or the primary frequency you animate at, e.g. anxiety, stress, fear or love, gratitude and happiness… The subconscious mind acts on and fulfils all that your conscious mind asks of it.
The conscious mind is the captain of your human vehicle, and the subconscious mind is the crew. The subconscious mind never stops, you don’t think about it because it won't question the orders it’s given, it's automated. Your heart beats, you breathe, it restores your cells and heals you from illness, you don't tell it to do those things, it just does it. So when you think the worse it creates, the worse, and when you think about how dire something is, it’ll make more of it. It gives you what you tell it, and it doesn’t matter if it’s good or bad. It doesn’t think, thinking, that’s your job, the conscious part of the brain.
The subconscious mind is like a Genie, fulfilling your every desire and wish, or at least aligns you to what will fulfil your desire. As all the mythology behind Genie's tells you, be careful with what you say, be careful of what you wish for, because you just might get it. So if you say something hundreds of times out of the day that will become the primary thing your subconscious mind will aim to bring into your reality.
So with Jupiter direct, but slowing down for its Rx, you’ll be ready to receive new information to drive your human vehicle. When Rx the seed is planted and once moving forward, it can begin to take root and blossom brand-new fruits.
The way I see it is Mercury is your software, the “how” you operate, it works with the Moon (your essence) to express. It's the bridge between the inner and outer worlds. In some ways, I guess you could say it’s the conscious part of your brain, the thinking part.
Uranus is the higher mind, the electricity pulsing through your body, fire neurons, think of it as your hardware, the brain itself.
Jupiter is the simulation, after all, you only experience what you believe in, and Jupiter is the giver of experience to expand the mind to align you to what you seek. In some ways, we could say Jupiter is your subconscious and a direct result of all we manifest in our lives.
Pushya shows us the path to success. What we need to learn, master and do to reach our desired goal. It’s about consistency, quality teachers/mentors and turning knowledge into action.
MONDAY
MOON OPPOSITE SATURN
Monday you might not be feeling the love. The Moon joins with Uranus. When the Moon will sit directly opposite the Sensei, Saturn. It's unlikely you'll receive the pat on the back you've been hoping for.
It begs the question of why are you doing what you do? Is it that you seek validation or recognition? Saturn's tough and doesn't want you to show off or feel the need to prove yourself to others. It can come off as cold, but it teaches you that the only opinion that should matter is the one you have of yourself.
Saturn brings tough love. It trains you, so you don't have to fight or struggle. You fight for life, not for points - Mr Myiagi. It's time you can feel isolated, disappointed through lack of support. In truth, it's just another lesson, so you can learn to stand on your own two feet.
Every month, the Moon sits across from Saturn, and every month you put into practice the lesson Saturn bestows upon you. Sure it can cause conflict at home with authority figures, and it can dishearten you.
Any Sensei will tell you that you never fight when you're emotional. You fight only for life, for what matters most. You fight smart and from the heart, never out of emotions. Saturn looking upon Moon and Moon looking upon Saturn is about cooling off and being your own pillar of support.
You might feel under-appreciated, not supported or unloved. It brings you back to the question, why do you do it?
If you're doing something to get something, then you're not coming from the right space. If you do something, let it be because you genuinely wish to do it, not because you hope to gain something from it. It's through this approach that you avoid disappointment.
Again, don't do anything for points, do only for yourself. It's like vanity metrics on social media, people living for likes, doing things for views, and when it all goes away, they feel as if they have nothing.
You're not a monkey in a circus, doing things for claps and treats. Come from a place true of heart, and the rewards you gain will be better than you can even imagine. When you put good into the world, good finds its way back to you. It needs to be true, though. Allow your actions to come from a place of wanting to do it without expectation for gain.
TUESDAY
MERCURY RX CONJUNCT LILITH
Tuesday, Mercury Rx rejoins Lilith, resurrecting past insecurities, fears and jealousies. Mercury has been Rx in Gemini since May 30 and has caused us all to seek out the truth within past misdirects.
Mercury Rx in Mrigashira, we’ve all been asked to question what we know and how we “know” it. Mercury Rx creates miscommunications and misunderstandings and in a sign that governs information and communication, all these concepts get brought up for reconsiderations.
Lilith is temptation, magic and those authentic feelings we all have, but that perhaps we try to control or keep in check. It’s the insecurities, hidden and repressed fears. The stuff society tells us we shouldn’t want or that’s taboo. So Mercury (the mind), is resurrecting these things for resolution and liberation.
Lilith being Adam's first wife, could also hold true for where we seek equality, and how we might act out for vengeance. Perhaps Mercury Rx in Gemini can bring back old rivals and vendettas.
WEDNESDAY
MOON OPPOSITE JUPITER
Wednesday could bring about a wanting to agree, and say yes to any and all opportunities that come your way. The Moon will sit across from Jupiter and bask in the hopeful, expansive and feel-good energy. It’s a transit that can expand the heart of even the most cynical person.
As your heart grows twice as big, you feel generous and excited for the future. You could be on the receiving end of some happy news, results, or the first manifestations to a goal begin to come into focus.
Jupiter and the Moon sitting across from one another can help you see the bigger picture or acknowledge an alternative point of view. It’s a highly fertile time. Both the Moon and Jupiter grow and expand, and both deal with creation.
It might be a time where things begin to come together, and something you set in motion back when the Moon was with Jupiter (1-2 June), can come to fruition. I think it’s wise not to promise more than you can keep at this time; remember, it’s a transit that only lasts a couple of days.
People might be more amenable and open, and so it can be a time of manifestation. It can also be when you can overindulge; both planets enjoy indulgence and more of something. You can see where this is taking place in your own chart for more insight. Where does Leo/Aquarius fall in your personal chart?
Moon and Jupiter looking at each other, says, “anything is possible’’. Possibilities are endless, but you need to turn ideas into action if you hope to see results.
THURSDAY
MOON OPPOSITE NEPTUNE
On Thursday, the Moon dances with Neptune, the planet of mystique, magic, spirituality and romance. Awakening from the spell cast upon us, illusions begin to dissipate as everything around us stops spinning. We can finally start to catch our breath and see things clearly.
Under this influence, you can be easily fooled, deceived and tricked into believing something that may not be what you think it is. On more positive notes, you enter into the world of possibility, where faith and trust are required to see you through.
When the Moon looks upon Neptune, It can make anyone a little hypersensitive and loopy. You might pick up on other peoples subtleties where you usually would not. The Moon and Neptune can create a lot of confusion, but you awaken as if from a dream once the transit has passed.
FRIDAY
FIRST-QUARTER MOON
Friday, 18, 04:54 GMT, we have the ¼ Moon under the Zodiac Sign of Virgo.
The first quarter Moon is when the Sun and Moon form a 90' angle to each other, forming an astrological aspect called a square. It's the time in the month the Moon will appear in the night sky as a half-circle.
The ¼ square of the Moon is time to take action, make decisions and face obstacles head-on. It's usually the time when you come up against the first obstacle or challenge to the seed planted back at the new Moon. The universe essentially tests you. What are you willing to do to bring your intention to fruition? It is time to work hard to guide your seed to the surface.
The Virgo ¼ Moon looks across to the Sun in Gemini, both ruled by Mercury, who right now is in Rx. This particular square in western astrology actually shares a lot of similarities. Gemini and Virgo deal with data, information, Virgo collects and analyzes while Gemini skims and shares.
The ¼ Moon is just another confirmation to question where you get your information, double-checking sources and questioning and thinking for yourself. Mercury is Rx, and so it’s not about gathering more information but dealing with what you already know and have on hand.
What do you know? How do you know it? We live in a time of media misdirects smoke screens and illusions. Virgo as a sign is wonderful at digging through and analysing, authenticating and classifying information.
What this shows us on a collective scale is something is going on with the use and spreading of information.
I know here in the UK there’s a major change in the way the NHS is soon to be collecting and sharing private patient records, under the guise of improving health. Of course, opt-outs are available, but it’s not widely known, with many still unaware of it even happening. Only 1.7 Million have opted out with a population of over 68 million. The most common reason is that they think it’s a conspiracy and that the government cannot do this.
Again Mercury Rx, you have to be cautious of what you sign and being as the Quarter Moon is taking place in a health-related sign, it’s always wise to double and triple check things.
Generally, the ¼ Moon presents a challenge to the seed planted during the New Moon. Now, the New Moon in Gemini, was not any ordinary Moon it was in fact an Eclipse. So, the initial hurdle will likely require more detailed observations. You might be required to get your “Virgo-on”, so to speak.
It means organising, being consistent and working towards your goals, well informed and with accurate and detailed data to see your through. Virgo is about organisation, its daily lifestyle habits, health habits and how you stick to a routine. Virgo is consistent and dedicated to analysing and streamlining your day-to-day stuff.
You can use this quarter moon to streamline your routines, to make time to learn and level up your skillset. It might also connect with the social crowd you run with. Needing to establish who you can trust, and what quality friendships, groups or teams you can collaborate with, to help you align with your goals, and overcome the hurdles you may face along the way.
All in all, it’s about questioning what you know and how you know and seeking out your truth for yourself.
If you’ve read the ‘all about the Moon in Astrology’ post, you’ll know that the Sun is the experience, what’s unfolding and the Moon is our reaction and feelings about what we experience.
You can read more about the Solar Eclipse New Moon later here. I will, of course, discuss the ¼ Moon for each sign in the personal weekly Horoscopes for those who’ve subscribed.
SATURDAY
MARS OPPOSITE SATURN
Saturday, Mars and Saturn sit across from one another creating friction. When it comes to your willpower to reach a goal and an organisation or barrier that seems insurmountable.
Saturn is Rx, it’s about reinforcing the foundations, the boundary lines and general quality control. Mars is a warrior, and he wants over, and to get past that boundary. So, what happens here is that Mars senses Saturn is not at its strongest, and may be able to infiltrate to reach the goal. Only you have to risk that Saturn is as weak as you think he is.
Mars is goal orientated and Saturn is the establishment of long term success. When you get Mars and Saturn together you get this sort of spartan energy. Mars is in a pretty powerful position in Leo, he’s confident, arrogant and sees what he wants and aims to find a way to reach it.
Mars and Saturn sitting across from each other is this giant test of strength, stamina and courage to reach your goal. What are you fighting for? What do you aim to accomplish? How badly do you want to succeed?
It’s one of those times when the vipers come out at the slightest display of perceived weakness. There’s going to people in the way of what you want. It might be that people are looking for ways to defeat or take you down. People compete with and aim to get one up, on you. Mars and Saturn are both connected to forms of violence.
Mars in Leo is unlikely to back down, what is needed is a little patience and careful planning to reach your goal. Saturn is Rx until October 10, 2021.
SUNDAY
JUPITER RX
Late Sunday afternoon, Jupiter goes retrograde at 2 '11 Pisces, and won't turn direct until October 18, 2021. When you think of any Planet turning Rx simply imagine the energy of that planet turning inward, it’s felt more personal.
Jupiter is the planet within Astrology that we tie to luck, abundance and expansion. What Jupiter really represents is our beliefs, opinions, convictions, and our dreams and aspirations.
If you know anything about the Law of attraction or have researched successful people you will come to realise that they encompass a sense of certainty in the pursuit of their goals. In other words, they have strong beliefs, more on this in a moment.
If we think about what Jupiter represents and turn it inward we get our beliefs… During Jupiter Rx, this is the perfect time for you to assess your beliefs and alter any limited ones you may have.
Beliefs are nothing more than generalisations about the past, based on INTERPRETATIONS of painful or pleasurable experiences. It’s not the events of our lives that make us who we are, but what we make those events MEAN.
Jupiter is our grand vision, so taking the time to plan your future is also a good use of this time. Many of us coast along the river of life without consciously deciding where we want to end up or where we want to go. Take this time to set a course for yourself, and make every choice in alignment with where you want to end up. Question your self “Will this help me get where I’m going”?
Going back to what I said before, about beliefs… At the end of the day, we only experience what we believe is possible and our beliefs set the standard of who we are, who we can become and what we’re capable of doing.
Jupiter also governs over long-distance travel, places far away… So journey inward and get to know yourself in a way that maybe you haven’t before. It’s time to update and question what you believe to be true… remember it’s what you believe that determines our success. What Story have you been telling yourself that has kept you stuck?
When we change our beliefs or perceptions of the past, be it pain or pleasure, our world changes. Question everything right now. Think of beliefs as universal permission slips. Use Jupiter Retrograde to update and upgrade yourself, your life and your world. Everything starts from within.

FINAL WORDS
The week highlights our goals, external matters and reconsidering what you know and how you know it. It’s a week that calls on our ability to overcome life's hurdles and challenges. We need to cultivate greater patience at life's setbacks.
The week will show us in one way or another how to excel and succeed, to reach our goals. It might require further consistency, more learning, finding the right mentor or even just finding patience in the perseverance towards what we seek most.
Don’t forget to make time for that something that lights you up!
