5 EASY steps to find your FREE Birth Chart in under 5 minutes!!!

Updated: Jul 26, 2021

So, you've discovered you're more than just a Taurus, Pisces, Leo, Gemini or whatever your zodiac sign is, and now you want to get your hands on your birth chart.

Well, my friend, your wish is my command! In this post, I'll walk you through exactly how to find your birth chart, and you'll be ready to decode your chart in under 5 minutes.

Before we jump into the five easy steps, I wanted to briefly cover a few common questions I get asked all the time.

What is a Birth Chart?

In the simplest of terms, a birth chart is a snapshot of the cosmos the moment you drew your very first breath on Earth. It's your personal blueprint to life.

Think of your natal chart as a guide that can uncover your potential. It can be used as a tool for self-discovery and to help you navigate through life.

What your date of birth says about you?

Since the birth of modern technology, you no longer need to track down an astrologer to calculate or chart your birth chart.

However, there are three things you do need if you hope for your chart to be accurate. You'll need your date, time and place of birth to chart an accurate birth chart. I'll discuss briefly why below.

There's nobody born on the same day, at the same time, in the exact same place as you. You and your chart are 100% unique, especially when we get into Vedic astrology.

What your date of birth says about you?

The date of birth is the first thing you need when you want to get your astrology chart.

The date of birth maps the overall energy of the day you were born. As you know, there were around 385,000 babies born in the world, on average, the same day as you.

Almost everyone knows their Sun sign or as we say Zodiac sign, but this is just the tip of the iceberg in the world of astrology. It's the other two things that specify and make you 100% unique.

What your time of birth says about you?

For astrology to be accurate, you need to know your exact time of birth. It's the time of birth alongside the place of birth that'll determine your Ascendant or rising sign.

The time of birth maps your entire chart. It points to the zodiac sign rising on the Eastern horizon at the time you were born.

What your place of birth says about you?

The place of birth also plays a part in setting the foundations of your natal chart. If your location is off by more than 30km, it can change any of the four main points in your chart.

Your chart's four pillars are the Ascendant or rising sign, Descendant, Imum Coli and Midheaven. Representing the four main areas of life, that set the foundations of who we'll become.

How do you Calculate your Birth chart?

Now, let me walk you through the five steps to get your chart. It should take less than 5 minutes, providing you have your date, time and place of birth ready.

Step 1. Get your birth details!

The first thing you'll do is get your birth details, find your birth certificate or a record that states your birth.

I recommend getting a recorded document of some sort, to be sure of accuracy. Like many, I first asked members of my family what time I was born and got so many different answers.

I called the hospital I was born at and asked for my birth time. Hospitals usually, by law have to keep such records.

Step 2. The FREE birth chart Calculator!

The next step is easy, you can visit Astrodienst, cafeastrology, Astro charts, but for this post, I'll be walking you through how to chart your chart, using Astrodienst (astro.com).

Once you reach astro.com, you click on the button that says, FREE HOROSCOPES, and scroll down to EXTENDED SELECTION.

Step 3. Plugin your birth date data!

Before you can plug in your data, you'll need to select either a guest user or sign up to create an account. You'll then be brought to a page, where you can enter your birth data.

Fill in your name, select a gender (it doesn't change your results), your day, month, year, time, country and place of birth. Now click continue.

Step 4. Time to Chart your Birth Chart!

You'll land on the configuration page to select your options to chart your astrology chart. You don't necessarily need to configure you can just go with the defaults and jump to step 5.

If you decide to configure your chart, you'll be able to see all the planets, both destiny points, including asteroids like Juno, Lilith, Eros, Fortuna and Psyche. To find out how to configure follow along. If you're interested in a bit more detail with all the configurations available watch this video.

Under the tab: Options for Zodiac and Houses, select the whole sign option. There are many house types to choose from that's used for interpreting the chart itself. The consensus is that whole sign houses work best all around.

Scroll down and under the tab display, and calculation options select the descending node. It will enable Ketu the south node to be visible in your chart.

Scroll down again, under the tab, additional objects, select the asteroids, Pars of Fortunae, Vertex, Lilith, Chiron, Ceres, Pallas, Juno, Vesta, Eres and Pholus. If you scroll down further, you can also select fixed stars.

In the box under the MANUAL ENTRY, you can add Eros (433), Psyche (16) and Fortuna (19).

STEP 5. Click the blue-button to reveal your chart!

The final step is to chart your astrology chart. All you do is click the blue button that says 'Click to show your chart', and there it'll reveal your natal chart.

You can, of course, click the button at the top to reveal transits, by clicking the blue button + add transits. There are options to save your PDF chart, see additional charts, and at the bottom, beneath the wheel, you can see the western aspects grid.
