A Simple way to embrace the Winter Solstice
By Kerry-ann McCullam

The winter solstice falls on, December 21st, 2020, marking this as the first day of Winter and the returning of the Sun.
" The cold and Dark Winter is as necessary to life as the heat and light of Summer."
The perfect way to embrace the Solstice is to sit by candlelight or an open fire whilst reflecting upon the season or year just past. Find gratitude for something and feel your heart with it. You can write it down, in as much, or as little detail as you feel called to. Next, you can ponder on what you hope to accomplish. Either for the new year ahead or for the next season. Visualise, see it and believe it so, write it down. Then make a wish for someone you know and release it to the flame.
If you practice this yearly, you can look at last years wish and if it's come to pass you may give thanks and release it to the flame. I personally take three separate sheets of paper, one for gratitude for what's come to pass, one for what I hope to come and one for a someone I know. I sign it with thanks at the bottom, and then after each one, I'll tear the thanks off and then release it to the flame. When the following year comes, If what I've asked has come to pass I'll release each one to the flame.
Step by Step.
Gather your tools: A candle (or fire pit), matches, pen and paper and a safe space.
Reflect and give thanks for something this past season or year, write it down and seal it with thanks.
Tear off the thanks and release it to the flame.
Visualise what one thing you hope to accomplish in the future season or year, write it down and seal it with thanks.
Tear off the thank you and release it to the flame
Now make a wish for someone you know, write it down and seal it with thanks.
Tear it off the thanks and release it to the flame.
Happy Winter Solstice, Witches and Muggles alike. May the returning Sun bring increasing health, wealth and light back into your hearts, homes and lives.
